Meet Lindsay I started Yoga At The Lake in the summer of 2014 with the simple intention of having more yoga in my life. This will be its 10th summer! The following year I decided to immerse myself in a Yoga Teacher Training program mainly so that I could cover a teacher if they were unable to make it to their scheduled class. This turned out to be so much more than I had signed up for. I was pregnant with my second son during my training and found it to be a life-altering experience! After completing my program with no intention to teach I discovered the absolute joy in teaching and have exercised this seasonal hobby ever since. I did my 200h training at Peterborough Living Yoga. Our teachers have a background in Kripalu and guided us to teach classes that can accommodate a wide range of modalities. For this, I am so grateful as it is a perfect fit for the drop-in-style classes at the lake.
Lindsay's Classes Monday 9:30 am Vinyasa Flow: Start your week off with an energetic, strength-building class. We will connect our mind to our breath and our breath to our movements in a flow to create heat within the body. Modifications are always provided, allowing this class to be accessible to everyone.
Thursday 5:30 pm Meditation in Motion: This class is a mindfulness practice connected to breath and movement. The goal for this class is to allow the mind to take a break from our everyday thoughts and reset while we move through a series of yoga postures. Both of my classes offer a variety of movement, stillness, and balance. Always offering modifications to be inclusive to all bodies.
Meet Samantha I started Yoga after the birth of my son as a friend had invited me, immediately I was a yes. Instantly, I felt a connection to the practice & I created a connection to my breath that I never experienced before. Since then Yoga has been a part of my life. I decided in 2014 to take Yoga teacher training, not necessarily to teach, but to expand my knowledge & work on my own growth, needless to say, I felt the call to share this with others and since expanded to training in Arizona, Yin certification & a 40 hour hands on assisting course to support the asanas/student. My husband and I are invested in helping people with self-care and moving energy. Together we have created Light House Healing here in Apsley offering Registered Massage therapy, Yoga, infrared sauna, sound therapy and we hold circles/retreats. I appreciate the opportunity to teach here in Apsley by the water and connect with you.
Samantha's Classes Tuesday 9:00 am Vinyasa flow: We will work on building functional strength, flexibility and stamina that creates an energizing, meditative quality in the body and mind. We focus on breath, flow, creating inner heat, setting your eye gaze and abdominal lock. We move from one pose to the other and through a series of sun salutations, balancing postures, hip openers and rejuvenating poses.
Wednesday 6:00 pm Restorative flow: This class is a modified Vinyasa, moving at a slower pace that has a gentle quality with longer, deeper holds, adding modifications when needed. All levels welcome
